I was born in Knoxville Tn and graduated from Carter High School in 1996. I am Married to Michael Bartleson who volunteers his time as the head trainer at B&B K-9. I work full time as a Land Home Coordinator at a Business in Knoxville, I am also the owner of B&B K-9 Obedience Training. To the people that may know my husband or have not met him yet, he is a retired K-9 Officer/Handler from the Knox County Sheriff's Office. He retired in November of 2015, after 17 years of service due to an on the job injury, which resulted with him being diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, (P.T.S.D.). After he retired, I began to see the effects of this disorder try to take over my husband, but when I started watching him and his retired K-9 partner interact and train together, I saw the passion he has for dogs. I also noticed that something so simple as him training dogs, brings him back to the husband I saw everyday prior to his injury. The smile, laughter and excitement. I started this business for him because it provided an outlet for him that would be therapeutic. The knowledge and education he has with dogs is amazing. The willingness he has for helping people never stopped when he retired. I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to living with someone having P.T.S.D. What I have seen and witnessed, when he is training dogs and helping families is guaranteed the best medicine for him. Dogs lift him up when he is down, he puts his heart and soul into training dogs and toward this business. If you want a well trained dog, on or off leash, with no contracts, no shock collars, one on one training, please call us and set up an appointment or consultation to see how we can help you and your dog.
I was Born in Woodbury, New Jersey I moved to Knoxville, Tn in 1993 with my family where I graduated from Farragut High School in 1997. I am married to Amanda Bartleson, who was raised in the Carter Community and we have three wonderful children. I am a Certified Evaluator through The American Kennel Club (AKC) for Good Canine Citizenship, as well as AKC Puppy Star Program. In November 1999, I Started my career at Knox County Sheriff's Office. I held the rank of Corporal and then Sergeant in Corrections Division until I was promoted to Patrolman in 2006. In 2007, I became a Field Training Officer, where I taught new recruits how to become an exceptional Patrol Officer. In 2012 I was promoted to K-9 Officer/Handler, which consisted of 3 months of K-9 training with emphasis on, obedience training, understanding K-9 behavior and body language, on and off leash obedience, recall training, personal protection training, area searches and tracking. My K-9, Bodie and I worked the streets of Knox County together for 4.5 years. I have attended several K-9 Schools, competitions and seminars including H.I.T.S.(Handler Instructor Seminar Training) in Phoenix, Arizona. My K-9 partner Bodie, who is now retired, has been certified with N.N.D.D.A, (The National Narcotic Detector Dog Association) since 2012. He was a certified Patrol Utility/Narcotic Detection K-9. He is now 7 years old and a father of 9 pups. He now spends his time at home with me and my family as well as one of his sons Blade and the mother of all 9 pups Breeze. So I have a total of three wonderful dogs that give and receive a lot of love and attention. I retired from the Knox County Sheriff's in November 2015, due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Since my retirement I have found that being around dogs and helping others helps with my P.T.S.D. symptoms. I have been training and helping families with their dogs on behavior management, house breaking, basic obedience, on and off leash, dog aggression issues, dominant dog management, recall, area search and tracking training. Since my wife opened the doors to B&B K-9 Obedience Training in March 2016 we have helped well over 100 families and their dogs, and we can help yours too.
My name is Jill Robertson and I’m a Knoxville native. I have worked in sales for a hydraulic wholesaler in Knoxville since 1993. My family is very important to me and I spend as much time as possible with them. Other than time with family I enjoy, antiquing, working in my yard, or relaxing with a good book. In the summer of 2010 a stray dog arrived at my house and it was definitely not love at first sight, but I grew to love him despite his out of control behavior. I hadn’t had a dog since I was a kid and soon figured out I was in way over my head. I met Mike in September of 2015 when I was desperate for a trainer that could help me with my unruly dog. We have come a long way since then and our client trainer relationship grew into a great friendship. As I spent time training I realized my dog and I both were changing for the better, I decided that I wanted to learn to train from the best trainer I had ever met. So I began volunteering and learning all I could about how to teach others to train their fur babies.

" We had a great first day with Koda... First off, they worked around our busy schedule to make today happen. Looking forward to seeing the positive outcome on our baby boy... Thanks so much Mike and Melissa for a great first day of training... "

" I purchased a $15k service dog from a company I thought was reputable and was delivered a dog that wouldn't sit on command unless I jerked his pinch collar like instructed to do if he didn't listen. He does his scent alerts but his obedience was terrible. I tried my best to train him on my own but I had NO clue how to handle him, so I set up a consultation with B&B. The first day my dog did SO WELL. He has continued to do better and better since I've been taking him to classes. My dog can be super into a toy and I'll say leave it and he forgets it exists until I release him! B&B doesn't train your dog, they train YOU to be able to train your dog which is so much better!! I would recommend them to anyone with a dog that needs training or retraining I can actually leave my house without worrying my dog will make a scene so I'm so thankful I was told about B&B! "

-- N. Paige

" The BEST in the business. Don't even consider anyone else. "

-- K Frazier

" Today was Angus' first day at school (B&B K-9 Obedience Training). We were praying that they could train this wild dog something. However, our expectations were not set very high at all because of his stubbornness. They went above and beyond our expectations with Angus. Not only did they show us how to make him stop jumping on our guest but also how to heel and sit. The best part was that Angus actually responded correctly to the commands! Mike and Melissa at B&B K-9 Obedience Training are miracle workers. "

" Great trainers and proven results. Mike is the "dog whisperer" of Knoxville!!! "

" We have been training with B&B for several weeks now and I'm AMAZED at the progress! So happy we picked this place. It's not just a job but these people obviously love animals and that makes it so much better for us and our furbaby! I was skeptical of taking my dog to a trainer but a friend of mine recommended B&B and the trainers are amazing! They showed us SO MUCH in just 1 visit. We have a long way to go but I'm so much more confident now that we will have the perfect behaved dog since we will be working with these folks! Thanks B&B. "

-- C Merritt

" Great people who know what they are doing. After one week our hyper little puppy is already sitting on command. "
